NLP MASTER Trainer Level

NLP Master Trainer standards effective August 2026

A. Introduction

A review of the NLP Master Trainer standards commenced in 2024 and is now an annual procedure to ensure relevance.

The standards across all levels will continue to be reviewed regularly to ensure alignment with advances in high-quality training standards globally.

During the reviews, the Board remains cognizant of trainings in the corporate/business setting, specifically the number of trainers now involved in non-traditional NLP training settings.

B. Standards.

Minimum standards required – An NLP Master Trainer Program designed to guide the development of NLP Master Trainers can be done in a minimum but very intensive, structured and supervised one year program or longer (EG 3 years), at the discretion of the individual certifying and recognized NLP Master Trainer. Additional requirements remain also at the discretion of the individual certifying NLP Master Trainer as long as the minimum requirements are throughly fulfilled and evidence is provided to the Board when applying for Master Trainer level membership.

  1. Leadership
  • Demonstrated high level leadership skills in trainings, community and with the Boards.
  • Evidence of constructive leadership skills which can include and not limited to feedback from students, participation in events in the larger community or delivered by the Boards
  • Exceptional conduct behaviour and ethics
  1. Mentorship
  • Demonstrated high level mentoring skills of other trainers, new training schools, participation in events delivered by the Boards or in local communities
  1. NLP Trainings experience
  • Successfully delivered co-delivered NLP Practitioners, NLP Master Practitioner trainings according to the requirements of a Board recognised Master Trainer Program/post Master Trainer Program. Evidence provided through student testimonials, videos, social media posts, short news articles provided to the Boards socials. Note that in the interest of quality and professional development standards, the recommended minimum trainings in any one year of a Board recognised Master Trainer Program are two NLP Practitioners and one NLP Master Practitioner.
  • Supervision by an NLP Master Trainer(s) during trainer development in the equivalent of an NLP Master Trainer Program recognised by the Boards.
  • Completion of requirements of the nominated NLP Master Trainer Program and ‘sign off’ by the lead NLP Master Trainer verifying completion of requirements.

    This will include project-based work that supports the augmentation of NLP applications in the real world.
  • Compulsory participation as Coaching Assistants/Trainers at a minimum of one NLP Practitioner, one NLP Master Practitioners and one NLP Trainer’s Trainings over the duration of the Board recognised Master Trainer Program.
  • For corporate/business trainers, evidence of training using NLP techniques at the equivalent of practitioner and Master Practitioner level and coaching over the duration of the Board recognised Master Trainer Program. Evidence can include and is not limited to: feedback from the organisation/participants (full names not required), submission to the Board of Tables of Contents from training programs, company approved images/posts on socials, short videos (where approved).
  • Contribution to the development and application of NLP techniques including innovation in NLP and the sharing of the results of the work with the Boards through news articles, social media posts, presentations e.g. through Board webinars. Sharing of innovations that will inform and advance NLP globally is encouraged.
  • Evidence of further learning and trainings to advance NLP tools and training experiences. Evidence to include and is not limited to higher level trainings such as Time Line Therapy® Trainer’s Training, NLP Coaching Trainer’s Training, Hypnosis Trainer’s Training, Master Trainer Hypnosis or a professional development program or training that is relevant to advancing the knowledge and application of NLP.
  • Continuous membership as a coach and trainer of good standing for a minimum two consecutive years with the Board.
  1. Evidence of community participation
  • Evidence of supporting your NLP, business, local communities to help these communities to grow. Evidence to include and is not limited to: feedback, testimonials, brochures, new initiatives.
